Euclid Beach Park Now has signed a contract with Arcadia Publishing to create a book for their "Images of America" series about Euclid Beach Park. The plan is to have the book ready for sale in 2012 at EBPN's "Remembering the Sights and Sounds of Euclid Beach Park"

In February of this year (2011), Arcadia Publishing contacted Euclid Beach Park Now concerning a book proposal about Euclid Beach Park they had received and asked if we would have an interest in participating. The book was to be published as part of their "Images of America" series. EBPN's Board of Directors met with the prospective authors at the Board's monthly meeting in February. What prompted Arcadia's interest were numerous inquires they received from individuals asking if they had a book available about Euclid Beach Park. The collective vision of the Board after the authors presented their proposal, was that the memory of Euclid Beach Park would be best served if Euclid Beach Park Now guided the book's pictorial and written content. Established in 1989, EBPN is the oldest and most recognized organization dedicated to Euclid Beach Park's memory. EBPN's membership has an unparalleled first-hand wealth of knowledge about the park. EBPN's Board of Directors proceeded to draft a proposal to Arcadia Publishing and the proposal was accepted.

Euclid Beach Park Now is asking not only its members but also the Greater Cleveland community to share their images, memorabilia, and memories of the Park, and become part of EBPN and Arcadia Publishing's Euclid Beach Park Book project. EBPN wants to make every effort to include only images that have not been used in any previous Euclid Beach Park publication. We are not only looking for photos from when the park was open but also the years following the closure of the park.

Suggestions of what we are looking for:

  • Pictures and stories pre-1930's
  • Picutres and stories 1930's-1969
  • What the area looked like immediately after the park closed and then after the structures were leveled
  • The rides and other Euclid Beach Park items that made their way to Shady Lake Park and then to Old Indiana Fun Park
  • Photos of how the park has been remembered since it closed. For example EBPN's current September event, the old Mall Shows, community events, parades, etc.
